- Products - Vibration Dampers - Damper User Applications - Construction Industry -

Large structures Like Buildings, Bridges etc. suffer from problems of Low Frequency-Large Displacement vibration as well as the normal problems of Noise from Walls, Floors, doors etc.

Constrained Layer Dampers can be made that are correctly "Tuned" to optimise the performance. The photo on the right is of Dampers that are up to 2 metres long and have displacements of over 50mm.

Fire Doors--Why do we use Sandwich Metals in Fire Doors? A simple way to make a Timber Door fire resistant is to put a layer of steel in the middle. In order to reduce the noise transmission through the door sandwich steel of around 1.6 to 2mm is used.

Floors & Ceilings--Laminated steel is used to reduce noise and vibration in Steel Decking floors and ceilings in buildings

Composite steel/concrete floor slabs can be effectively damped to give less vibration allowing greater spans and lighter weight.
